Call for applications

Bishkek Press Club (BPC) with the support of National Endowment for Democracy (NED) announces competition for participation in the "Summer school of international journalism". Competition is open for the students of Journalism and International Relations departments as well as for young acting journalists.

Summer school is being organized within the framework of 'Increasing transparency of foreign policy in Kyrgyzstan' project. The training program is aimed on strengthening the capacity of young journalists to comprehensively report on political, social and economic developments on an international scale.

Summer scholl participants will have an opportunity to take part in the interactive workshops on international journalism innovations, and roundtable meetings to be held by international journalists, famous politicians, top level diplomats and experts acknowledged in the field of international relations.

Project participants will have an opportunity to obtain practical skills in international reporting by writing articles, and other analytical and news materials for Bishkek Press Club (www.bpc.kg), which widely covers country level significant public and political events.

The workshops will be held twice a week in time convenient for the participants. Upon project completion the active participants will be awarded with certificates and diplomas.

To apply, please send your CV and cover letter (not more than 700 words) via email to office@ipp.kg. Please, indicate in the subject: "Summer school of international journalism".

The Institute for Public Policy is a Bishkek-based independent organization that was founded in April 2005. It aims at promoting formation of a practice of public policy and development of mechanisms of constructive interaction between state institutions, civil society, mass media and businesses. The Institute supports partner relations with many participants of public and political processes and aims at involving the public in the process of decision making.
