Spector, Ph.D. Candidate, University of California, BerkeleyLanguage: English The session will help participants understand what a policy brief is, and how to write one effectively. Participants will also work in groups to prepare sample policy briefs. This session will be helpful and informative for anyone who wishes to learn more about how to effectively communicate new and innovative policy ideas to decision-makers in government, as well as to the media, NGOs, and research institutes. Bio: Regine A. Spector is a Ph.D. Candidate in Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley and she holds her BA and MA in International Policy Studies from Stanford University. She worked for a fellow at the Brookings Institution, where she extensively researched and analyzed political, economic and security developments in Russia, Caucasus, Central Asia and Europe, as well as Caspian energy issues.
